Japanese daily #SankeiShimbun recently published an exclusive interview with President Tsai Ing wen on their front page, in which the President shared her views on #CrossStraitRelations, #Taiwan-#US relations, Taiwan-#Japan relations, and Taiwan's economic and trade prospects .
President Tsai stated that Taiwan’s continued existence is important for several reasons:
🔺Taiwan’s #democracy and #freedom are indispensable to the geopolitical order.
🔺Taiwan's #HighTech industries occupy a key position in the world.
🔺Taiwan’s persistence in recognizing the value of democracy and #HumanRights serves as a global model.
It’s critical to get an accurate idea of Taiwan’s importance and to share this with the world.
President Tsai also reiterated Taiwan’s position on regional #security and #stability, emphasizing that as a responsible stakeholder in the region, Taiwan is willing to conduct meaningful #dialogue on security issues and cooperate with all parties involved in the region as long as it contributes to #peace and stability and spurs development in the region.
